This report here is part of
Part 7 of the “Project to Restore Moody Bible Institute to its Roots and Foundation”.
This seventh part looks at several leaders and seeks to inform Moody family,
alumni, faculty, donors and prayer partners and to warn them about leaders who
show by pattern as not believing the Bible and working against it. If you missed

The
FEDBP team first became aware of Mr. Thornton and his ruthlessness when he cold-heartedly
fired Mrs. Julie Roys with no explanation. But that was just the start. When
Mr. Thornton then was “picked” to take the interim presidency of MBI, we really
started to realize that somehow he is part of a much bigger problem at Moody.
That was a few weeks ago, and we’ve found more since then. But let’s review his
history first, and then come back up to his current scandals that he’s hiding.
Mr.
Greg Thornton started as a Moody student and graduated in 1981. After
graduating, Mr. Thornton got married, and was hired by Mr. Jerry B. Jenkins as advertising
coordinator for Moody Press (now Moody Publishers). Then in the fall of 1981,
Mr. Thornton started his 3 year degree at Jesuit Loyola University, where he
apparently also did some kind of work. Attending Jesuit Loyola (of Chicago) was
a very evil decision. We cannot yet prove that Mr. Thornton took the Jesuit oath
yet, but his 3-year degree there and working there for a time raises big concerns.
You can see the Jesuit oath later in this document. Then, Mr. Thornton then
climbed several positions in MBI over the following years. In 1985 he became
director of Moody Press. In 1992, he got a promotion to Vice President (VP) of
Moody Press. In 1011, Mr. Thornton got promoted again, this time to Vice
President of Moody Global Ministries (Moody Press + Moody Radio). Then, just
recently (January 2018), Mr. Thornton got picked to be the interim president of
MBI. Mr. Thornton is also an elder at Moody (Memorial) Church.

Now
for the damage he has been a part of. Mr. Thornton is one of 2 active MBI
leaders and one emeritus leader who are Jesuit-trained, at the same college:
Loyola University of Chicago. That is concerning because Jesuits are trained to
be the Vatican infiltrators – sent in to destroy what doesn’t work with the
Vatican and it’s one world religion and one world government plan. The oath
they take is to literally evil and pledges them to be
a secret unstated army who works to sabotage or destroy anything and anyone who
gets in the way of the Vatican, their one-world government schemes and their
one-world false religion schemes.
If
you want to catch up on the real history of the Jesuits and their motivation,
all you have to do is start with their oath – it’s a secret blood oath to the
pope to destroy anything necessary to get and keep world-domination for the
Vatican, while keeping their allegiance an absolute secret – which 95% of them
do just that. Here’s just a clip from that oath.
“… I furthermore promise and declare that I will, when opportunity
presents, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly,
against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to
extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I
will spare neither age, sex or condition; and that I will hang, waste, boil,
flay, strangle and bury alive these infamous heretics, rip up the stomachs and
wombs of their women and crush their infants' heads against the walls, in order
to annihilate forever their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done
openly, I will secretly use the poisoned cup, the strangulating cord, the steel
of the poniard or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honor, rank, dignity, or
authority of the person or persons, whatever may be their condition in life,
either public or private, as I at any time may be directed so to do by any
agent of the Pope or Superior of the Brotherhood of the Holy Faith, of the
Society of Jesus.
"In confirmation of which, I hereby dedicate my life, my soul and
all my corporal powers, and with this dagger which I now receive, I will
subscribe my name written in my own blood, in testimony thereof; and should I
prove false or weaken in my determination, may my brethren and fellow soldiers
of the Militia of the Pope cut off my hands and my feet, and my throat from ear
to ear, my belly opened and sulphur burned therein, with all the punishment
that can be inflicted upon me on earth and my soul be tortured by demons in an
eternal hell forever!...”

Now,
back to Greg – so Jesuit-trained – that is concerning to say the least. Add to
that, he was working with the MBI top-leadership to lie to Julie Roys about the
change of rules in 2013 that publicly allowed the top MBI faculty to drink,
smoke and gamble – yet Greg lies to Julie about the gambling clause and change.
And the passing of these new rules allowed Mr. Jerry B. Jenkins to come out
about his gambling problem (sort of) and not get fired from the MBI board of
trustees – as Mr. Jenkins ought to be.
Now
the confusing part here (for some) about Mr. Thornton is that Mr. Greg Thornton
and his wife (Grace) seem to be nice people in person. I’ve met them, and I
know they meet a lot of people so they wouldn’t likely remember me. According to
God’s Word, cunning craftiness and being honorable before God are two very different
things. Just because someone can be nice in person doesn’t mean they are not doing
evil in the dark and shadows, according to God’s Word. Jesus said it this way: “19And this is the
condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness
rather than light, because their deeds were evil.20For everyone
practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds
should be exposed. 21But he who does the
truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have
been done in God.” (John 3:19-21)
Let’s
review how Mr. Thornton handled Mrs. Roys for asking questions that God has her
asking.
“… Roys had long planned a January vacation
in Cancún, Mexico, with her two grown sons and teenage daughter. (Work forced
her husband, a teacher, to remain in balmy Chicago.) She was en route and
without an internet connection when an email from Moody Senior Vice President
Greg Thornton—he is now interim president—arrived in her inbox: “Moody
leadership is terminating your employment, effective immediately. You will be
paid for any hours worked and reported through today. Dan Craig will pick up
your laptop, ID, fob, P-Card, and any other Moody property you have this
afternoon between 2:30-3 pm at your home.”
“Craig did
not pick up the laptop: It and Roys were in Mexico when she read that message.
She had already saved her files on a flash drive and an external hard drive,
and one of her sons is buying her a new computer: She will return Moody’s
computer, undoubtedly wiped clean, when she comes back to Chicago. Roys says
she has lots of material she has not yet disclosed, and she made it clear to
the trustees that if they did not take action she would go public with it. In
Mexico she characterized to WORLD her message as, “There’s a hole in the
ship. … I’d prefer you patch it, but if you’re not going to do it, I’ll
warn the people to get their luggage off.”
“The trustees, in pushing
changes at the top, are evidently interested in patching… “There has to be
change in the board. They’re the ones who were in charge. They need to take
responsibility.” Moody leaders will hear more public comment
from alumni, faculty, students, and donors. They will speak of improving
communication and transparency. Spokesman Regnerus said the executive team has
already “decided that Moody’s officers will have a freeze in pay…”

And
again, a few more details:
“… Then yesterday
at noon, I received an email from Greg Thornton, MBI senior vice president of
media, informing me that “after consulting with the Executive Committee of the
Moody Board, leadership is terminating your employment.” No reason was given
and I was informed that my boss, Program Manager Dan Craig would be at my house
in two-and-a-half hours to pick up my laptop.
I reached out to Roys and
she repeated the quote above which came directly from her email from MBI’s Greg
Thornton. A voice mail was left with Moody Radio’s public relations office…”
So,
now Mrs. Roys is wrongfully (even illegally?) out of a job because she asked
questions and the VP of Moody Media handed down the command to fire her – with no
explanation. And now, that same man who cold-heartedly fired Mrs. Roys to cover
up crimes and scandals and debt that few admit – is now the “interim” President
of Moody Bible Institute. And, he’s a Jesuit, or at very least – Jesuit-trained.

Speaking
of others, Greg Thornton firing Julie Roys is following on the heels of the
ruthless firings of 34 faculty in November of last
year (2017) – many of which are believed to be because they crossed a corrupt
leader and were fired instead of the corruption being fixed. We don’t know all
of the names (yet) because some of them aren’t listed yet because they don’t
technically get fired until the end of the school term. Those who have been
wrongly fired have cause for a rightful Biblical lawsuit, since the top-leaders
reject God’s Word in such clear passages such as Matthew 18.

No
wonder there is an atmosphere of fear among the students and faculty. Julie
Roys and Rich Weber have done their parts in speaking up and doing the first
steps of Matthew 18. This team here (FEDBP) is doing a rallying cry to inform
and gather Moody alumni, donors, faculty, and trustees to work to get these
scandals fixed, before they crash Moody, or allow them to be bought up (by
Loyola or others) and corrupted further.

That’s

saying anything to the few top-leaders for fear of getting fired. They need

pressure to get the rest of the corruption brought to light and then corrected,
and the wrongly abusive top-leaders fired, and to help the honest faculty keep
their jobs.
