[Originally,
this was a visual resource, a one-page paper to hand out to help others to use
the Bible to contradict the lies of Rome, her “popes” and the Jesuits. Now, we’ve
made it into an article.]
10) “Mary was perfect.”
A: No,
Mary got confused many times who Jesus was. Jesus never called his mom
“Mother”, always “woman”. Mary, like the disciples, didn’t understand who Jesus
was and what He came for until after the resurrection when
Jesus appeared to His disciples and explained everything.
> Verses: Mark 3:30-35, Luke 3:48-50, Luke 2:26-38, Luke 8:19-21, John
3:3-5, John 7:3-9; John 2:4, John 19:26; Luke 24:13-49
9) “Mary only had one child - Jesus.”
A: No,
Mary had quite a few more children, sons & daughters.
> Verses: Matthew 12:46-52, Mt 13:53-58, Mark 6:1-4, Acts 1:14; another
example: Jude was a half-brother of Jesus (Jude 1:1)
8) “Mary (& saints) hear our prayers and petitions Jesus to hear us
and forgive us.”
A: No,
the One who hears and answers our prayers is Jesus.
> Verses: Matthew 19:14, Mt 23:37, Mark 10:14, Luke 18:16, John 13:33; See
also Matthew 8:3, Mt 8:15, Mt 20:34, Mark 1:41, Mark 3:10, Mark 6:56, Mark
7:33, Luke 5:13, Luke 18:15, Luke 22:51; See also John 14:15-24, John 15:7-16,
1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 7:20-28,...
-- Jesus always welcomed everyone to come to Him - the sick, the weary, even
little children. So, how in the world is the Vatican getting away with
pretending that Jesus somehow stopped caring when He left earth to go to the
Right Hand of the Father to intercede for us? How can the Vatican blaspheme
Jesus saying that we need some fallible “saint” or “priest” to intercede for
us? They blatantly lie and slander Jesus with their supposed “pious” false
teachings.
7) “Peter was the first pope.”
A: No.
Peter preached against the false “priesthood” of Rome plagiarized from God’s
system of priests with Israel, then twisted to be evil. Jesus’ death as Lamb of
God wrapped up that priesthood. Jesus is the High Priest. (Jn14:6)
> Verses: 1 Peter 2:9 - God through Peter taught the persecuted Jewish
followers of Jesus that they were the priesthood. God was not talking to the
rich, corrupt, and blasphemous tycoons of the Roman Empire that became the
“Roman Church”.
6) “Call the priest your father.”
A: No.
Jesus commanded us to call no man our father, except God. If you are an adopted
child of God by grace through Jesus, then all followers of Jesus are your
brothers & sisters (brethren) & fellow servants, not more than
that.
> Verses: Matthew 23:9
5) “The pope has taken the place of Jesus on earth.”
A: No,
Jesus told us that His Kingdom is not of this world. Jesus also explained to
John the apostle that the Vatican/Roman “church” is the “woman who rides the
beast” who is destroyed in Revelation 17.
> Verses: John 18:36, Revelation 17
4) “The popes are infallible.”
A: No,
they are some of the worst of the worst. All have sinned and rebelled against
God, but those who have pledged themselves to satan by demonic oaths live and
act in very vile and wicked and perverse ways. Jesus rebuke in Matthew 25 would
fit them very, very well.
> Verses: Matthew 25, Romans 3:10-23, Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Galatians
6:7-9
3) “Your alms/money and good works get you and your loved ones out of
purgatory more quickly.”
A: No,
God’s Word is very clear that no “good works” can save us because they are not
purely good. But even if we could do even one good work it couldn’t pay for
even one (of many) act of rebellion against God. The only thing that can pay
for our sin is Jesus’ blood. God’s Word is also clear that “purgatory” doesn’t
exist. Jesus explained it well in the historical account of the rich man and
Lazarus. Jesus used 2 real names (Lazarus and Abraham) in that account proving
that this was not a “story” or a “parable”.
> Verses: Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-10; Luke 16:19-31
2) “The pope speaks for God.”
A: No.
God has spoken in His Word. The “pope” speaks lies from demons - proven by the
fact that he/they contradict the Word of God many times (not to mention all the
times where they contradict themselves).
> Verses: Matthew 5:18, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:16-21
1) “The pope is over all religions, denominations, and churches.”
A:
False. Jesus has already explained that He is still the Head of the church
[Greek word: “ekklesia”, meaning gathering of believers, not those who gather
in a building], and has appointed the apostles (none alive today), prophets,
evangelists, and pastors/teachers. The “pope” and the whole 501c3 false
teaching network refuse to accept God’s Word and authority/accountability
structure, but that’s normal for all false teachers. The Vatican is a cult and
the chief of them, and leader of all false religions. They preach a false
gospel with much false teaching that we all need to warn others about. This is
just the short list.

Corinthians 11:14
